hi all --
here's the latest. one more concert coming up. it's on september 25th. after that, i don't think we'll be doing anything for a long while. there are so many reasons.... here are some:
1 - my recording studio's really picked up, which really has me busy. it's mostly nighttime stuff.
2 - i really want to put out a new album ....which takes a lot of focus. i haven't done any recording of myself in a long time.
3 - between all that, i just want some time with family and friends and well, remodeling the house.
anyway, i know the door price on next saturday's up there, but i hope to see some of your faces there.

hey all,
a new website is in the works. we thought joomla was a great handy thing a year ago....it's really a pain in the neck. for those who know what i'm talkin' about, looks like i'm gonna wordpress this thing! :-D

hey all,
it's been a while since anything's been posted on this site. anna and i have been doing the Taking Motion thing for about a year now and we're rethinking how to catergorize it. in other words what we do now, the pretty acoustic thing, is going to be transitioned back into the Jeremy Simon name. oddly enough, even with all the bookings we were getting as Taking Motion, we'd get there and "Jeremy Simon" or "Jeremy and Anna" were ending up on the bill. even amongst friends and family we've gotten a lot of "what are you doing??" feedback concerning the name change to Taking Motion. anna and i thought this out for a while together and decided this really makes sense.
No less, the current Taking Motion shall transition into being Jeremy Simon once again. Taking Motion will be reserved for it's original dream... a rock band/project. who knows how much of a full band it will ever be, but there's quite a library of songs developed for it. hopefully with this, the "names" will match up more with the music. which will be sweet.
so yes, concert updates will return to this site. thanks for bearing with us through it all.

We released our first offical Taking Motion recording called "Simple". You can download it for free at the Taking Motion site!

Jeremy, now in his mid-20s, has been writing music since elementary school. It started out as the undisciplined doodling instead of practicing for piano lessons. In his early teens this proceeded to writing electronic music ranging from techno to electronica to industrial to rock (and even some cheesy video game music). Then in 9th grade he picked up guitar which became his favorite musical device. Since then he has performed in a broad range of musical settings including: alternative 90s rock bands, as a solo acoustic artist, various college worship teams, and an energetic indie rock band. Lately he's taken his focus to the acoustic realm as a singer-songwriting, still providing quality songs, unconventional lyrics, and melodies that his friends want to sing along with. He brings an accessible set of tunes to the table. You can relax and enjoy, but also take something home to think about.
