It's Concert Season & Free EP is Coming! |

hi all -
first, i'm not going to use proper capitalization. i actually don't like it, and by typing in all lower case, using any caps gives me more levels of expression. right? i'm sure you agree. it's true. 
so it's concert season! anna and i are performing under the name Taking Motion now. we decided it's better to play under a band name than under my name. it makes more sense and gives us a name to grow under. right now we have quite a number of shows schedule up through october so far. we're very glad to be on stage again, singing, talking to people, and drinking free bottled water. oh the joys. it's a joy to play. it's also a joy just to see God grow us in the good and the bad.
we have a number of new songs that we are now playing. anna's really been helping me polish the lyrics, which are usually the sticking point in all my songs. if the words aren't quite working, i'll sit on a song for years... i think you'll be pleasntly surprised at these new fresh ones!
a quick note, the september 27th date at Solid Rock Cafe is moved to september 20th.
and on to more interesting news other than "we have more concerts. happy are we. oh yes, come out, please!"...
anna and i are in the process of recording a Taking Motion EP. note, we will be distributing it for FREE on this site and the Taking Motion website. there won't be any marketing gimics asking for your email address, or tell 3 friends. none of that -- just mp3s you can just download to have and pass around if you so choose. you know you like that.  we will be releasing this month, august 2008. we're hoping to finish most if not all of the tracking and mixing this week. (we're recording at my studio, Viking Camel Studio )
alright, now it's time to sleep. i've turned into quite the night owl lately... something about the quiet of late night.. then again, what about that freshness and quiet of early morning. i guess it's one or the other eh? catch you all later. hope to see you at the upcoming shows!

Hello Everyone!
We've been letting things be pretty slow this summer. With Anna and I getting married, it was definitely time to take a little break with music and just have a nice little beginning to our marriage. By the way, I highly recommend the marriage thing. Anna's my best friend, so it's just great in so many ways...I'm so thankful. God just always seems to provide in unimaginable ways. 
So, down to music business. We have at least 2 shows coming up in August, some in works for September, and there's 3 or 4 for October so far. We're ramping up on bookings, so expect to see a lot more soonly.  Speaking of which, the concert calender here on the .com isn't too cool at the moment; I'm looking for something less annoying. so please take a look there for now.
Additionally, we're going to be performing more and more under the name of Taking Motion. It's never just me, so hey, let's have something we can put on teeshirts right? hehe. Well, we have a lot more vision for it than that, but this is the initial news.

Jeremy, now in his mid-20s, has been writing music since elementary school. It started out as the undisciplined doodling instead of practicing for piano lessons. In his early teens this proceeded to writing electronic music ranging from techno to electronica to industrial to rock (and even some cheesy video game music). Then in 9th grade he picked up guitar which became his favorite musical device. Since then he has performed in a broad range of musical settings including: alternative 90s rock bands, as a solo acoustic artist, various college worship teams, and an energetic indie rock band. Lately he's taken his focus to the acoustic realm as a singer-songwriting, still providing quality songs, unconventional lyrics, and melodies that his friends want to sing along with. He brings an accessible set of tunes to the table. You can relax and enjoy, but also take something home to think about.
