hello all, i just want to say, if you missed this past friday's concert (sept 25th), you missed out. it was a great night. satisfying. all the artists were great. i was especially excited to hear my friend Dan Harney's new music project, The ShalloWell . there's a lot of promise there. :) we also met some neat guys in The No Longer . they were a delightful surprise as well. geoff is a ridiculously good singer. in other news, i've started preparations for recording a new album this fall. one of the main reasons i'm not doing any more concerts in 2009 is to make sure i can dedicate some quality time, thought, and energy to personal recording projects. the main one being the next Jeremy Simon album. it's gonna be diverse for sure. there's a lot of new material from the past year that i am so excited to get in permanent form. some of you have heard some of the new stuff. it's my favorite stuff too...the most happy i've been with my songwriting in a long time! :-D i'm hoping to honestly do a bunch of styles i love and tie it all together...somehow! ;) so yeah, my friend andy nissley and are going to do some pre-production starting this week. heh, i'm gonna show him what i want. we're gonna jam. he's gonna deconstruct all my stuff like a good friend and then we're gonna bicker for a little bit. eventually we'll set up mics and start recording stuff. hehe. honestly, it's gonna be great fun. in tandem with that, we'll be working on Born of Tides , which is a project andy initiated and i started to sing on. it's a different project for me. i'm so used to writing most everything and then bringing it others to help me flesh out. this time, it's not my ideas initially, but i'm free to come up with lyrics and melodies. it's fun and freeing. we have one song posted for free download from the spring. uhm, that's all for now. talk to you on the later side. jeremy |
Jeremy, now in his mid-20s, has been writing music since elementary school. It started out as the undisciplined doodling instead of practicing for piano lessons. In his early teens this proceeded to writing electronic music ranging from techno to electronica to industrial to rock (and even some cheesy video game music). Then in 9th grade he picked up guitar which became his favorite musical device. Since then he has performed in a broad range of musical settings including: alternative 90s rock bands, as a solo acoustic artist, various college worship teams, and an energetic indie rock band. Lately he's taken his focus to the acoustic realm as a singer-songwriting, still providing quality songs, unconventional lyrics, and melodies that his friends want to sing along with. He brings an accessible set of tunes to the table. You can relax and enjoy, but also take something home to think about.
